The Ultimate Fall Guide to the Space Coast

September has arrived, which means one thing around here: bring on the pumpkins and fall vibes! So if you're looking for things to do on the Space Coast this fall, I've put together a list of local events, restaurants, coffee shops, and seasonal favorites to add to your September calendar.

Okay, I know what you're thinking "Lauren, it's still 90 degrees outside". Fair.

But just because we don't get crisp fall mornings and changing leaves here on the Space Coast doesn't mean we can't enjoy everything else that makes this season so fun.

Think pumpkin spice lattes, spooky nights, cozy dinners, local shopping, and finding a new favorite coffee shop.

🎃 Fall Events on the Space Coast

Select nights in September & October | 6–10 PM

If you're someone who starts getting excited for Halloween the second September hits, you'll want this one on your list. Brevard Zoo completely changes after dark for Beware the Night, with spooky surprises, creepy creatures, and plenty of Halloween atmosphere. It's a fun option for a date night, a night out with friends, or just an excuse to get into the Halloween spirit a little early.

September 10

One of my favorite ways to spend a day in Downtown Melbourne? Grab a friend, wander around the local shops, grab something to sip on, and take your time.

The Downtown Melbourne Fall Sip & Shop is basically an excuse to do exactly that - shop local, enjoy some drinks, and get your first taste of fall.

Pumpkins + pottery + a drink? I'm in.

Pottery & Pumpkins at Playalinda Brewing Co. is a more laid-back way to celebrate the season. Pick your pumpkin, get creative, and enjoy a drink while you're there.

Perfect for a girls' night, casual date, or an afternoon when you just want to do something a little different.

🍕 Space Coast Restaurants to Try This Fall

Sometimes fall plans are as simple as finding a good restaurant and staying at the table a little longer. Here are three Space Coast restaurants I'd add to your list.

If you're looking for a cozy fall date night in Cocoa Village, Cafe Margaux is at the top of my list.Their current “Fall is for Foodies” prix-fixe menu makes it an especially fun time to visit. And since you're already in Cocoa Village, you can grab dinner and then wander around the shops afterward.

The Renoir Pizza at Pizze Gallery - perfect warm pizza for a cold fall day
My Renoir pizza from Pizza Gallery - highly recommend the garlic knots, too.

Let's talk pizza. Pizza Gallery has gourmet pizzas, local art, a lively atmosphere, and — most importantly — their famous garlic knots. If you're searching for a fun, casual restaurant in Cocoa, FL, put this one on your list.

Ashley's of Rockledge is a historic, reportedly haunted restaurant serving comfort food, steaks, seafood, and drinks. The food is one reason to go, but I'll admit the local history and haunted reputation make it even more fun for a fall dinner. Because if you're going to embrace spooky season, you might as well do it over dinner.

☕ Space Coast Coffee Shops to Try This Fall

Now for my favorite category...COFFEE. Fall basically gives us an excuse to order every seasonal latte on the menu, so here are three Space Coast coffee shops I'd check out this season.

Casa Bonita outdoor patio decorated for Fall!

Grab a pumpkin spice latte from Cowboy Coffee, then wander around Casa Bonita's restored historic house, decorated outdoor patio, and boutique.

Coffee + fall browsing = a pretty perfect morning.

If you like coffee drinks that are a little more creative, don't skip Apocalypse Coffee Roasters. Their menu tends to have fun, unusual flavors and rotating specialty drinks. I tried their salted caramel latte, and it was so good. This is one of those local coffee shops I'd recommend when you want to try something beyond your usual order.

For an Italian twist on your coffee run, head to Bella Sicilia Café. It's a family-run Sicilian café and bakery serving espresso, cappuccino, and Italian pastries - and the outdoor patio is so cute. It's also a great spot to meet a friend, get some work done, or settle in for a study session.

🍁 More Ways to Enjoy Fall on the Space Coast

One of the things I love about fall on the Space Coast is that it doesn't have to look like fall somewhere else. We might not have sweater weather in September, but we can still have pumpkin spice lattes, local events, spooky nights, good food, and weekends spent exploring different parts of Brevard County.

You can grab coffee in the morning, wander around Cocoa Village or Downtown Melbourne, check out a local event, and end the day with dinner somewhere you've never tried.

And if the weather is still 90 degrees?

There's always the beach. 😉

And if you're new to Brevard County or thinking about moving to the Space Coast, I hope this gives you a little taste of what makes the area so fun to live in.
